World Education Market - Vancouver, May 21, 2001 - Annette Grimaila, President of EDIT Inc., announces the sale of a province-wide licence of GramRJunior 2000 to the Department of Education of Ontario for use in the 5,400 primary schools of this Canadian province. According to Constance Legentil of the Ontario Software Acquisition Program Advisory Committee (OSAPAC) which evaluated the product, "GramRJunior provides a real support to a number of years of study which prepare students for the 10th Grade Reading and Writing Competency Test."
Since it first appeared in a DOS version in 1992, GramRJunior has been extremely well received both for home use and in the schools and school boards of the province of Québec. This was due in great part to the marketing efforts of DM Diffusion Multimédia Inc. who are exclusive distributors. Developed by a team of teachers and linguists directed by John Chandioux, GramRJunior is now in its sixth version.
This latest edition of GramRJunior has taken on multimedia functions
with the addition of a true dictionary of some 1,500 basic words of French and
more than 850 illustrations. GramRJunior is now available for French
as a mother tongue or French as a second language in both SCHOOL
and HOME versions with contents adapted to the official
curricula of Québec, Ontario and the rest of Canada. Always as easy to use, Junior
offers quality linguistic tools: a grammar precis incorporating the terminology
in use in each province, a complete verb-conjugation module, a spelling and grammar
checker and a structured writing guide.
